this लाखमोलाचं article starts from last few days of 2021, so will be quiet quite a lengthy 📏 one.. having checked the recording app for statistics at the end 🔚 of every year, the figures for each of them were observed to be adding up to a new record value "📈" every time.. a little shy of 80k, year 2021 ended with a resolution for 2022, "let's give 6 digits "📈" a try" 😎 (ठरवणे).. so, here it is.. 100k "📈" is now.. done.. and.. dusted.. 💪 (करणे).. an achievement 🏆 of / for a lifetime.. न भूतो ⏮️ न भविष्यति ⏭️, म्हणून 'of / for'..

just in case, if you are still wondering 🤔, 'what 100k "📈" am I talking about?'.. it's "elevation gain", measured in meters.. म्हणजे वर्षभरात १०० कि.मी... आता तुम्ही म्हणाल, "what's the big deal?" 🤷.. येव्हडं तर मी एका weekendला cycle 🚲 चालवतो / चालवते, पंधरवड्यात पळतो / ते 🏃‍♀️ किंवा महिन्याभरात morning walk करतो / करते 🚶‍♂️ et cetera, et cetera.. तर तुम्हीसुद्धा बरोबर 🆗 आहात.. but let's recap first, we'll shortly come back to this "big deal" topic..

डिसेंबर / वर्ष (२०२१) अखेरी family सोबत सज्जनगड आणि अजिंक्यतारा केल्यावर आम्ही सर्वच आजारी 🤒 पडलो आणि new yearचं routine (सिंहगड circuit) वगळण्यात आलं.. CoViD-19 जन्मल्यापासून क्वचित लोकांनाच जो normal / घरगुती ताप अजूनही येतो, त्यातले आम्ही 😏.. coincidentally, परत ह्याच areaत येऊन ८ तारखेला जो वर्षातला (२०२२) पहिला trek झाला / केला, तो म्हणजे चंदन-वंदन 🖇️.. सोबतीला होते थालीपीठ, किकली 🛕 आणि बारा मोटाची विहीर.. ह्या trekच्या article मध्ये, माकडं आपली पूर्वज आहेत का?, हळद 🟡 किती प्रकारची असते?, वीरगळींचं गाव, जमीनीखाली महाल, ह्यांच्याबद्दल थोडेसे.. वीरगळ म्हणजे काय? - ह्याची सविस्तर माहिती, त्यानंतरच्या article मध्ये आहे, जो trek आम्ही actually डिसेंबर-२०२१ महिन्यात 🔙 केला होता - सिंदोळा, निमगिरी-हनुमंतगड..

C-V नंतर लगेच, म्हणजे १० तारखेला सिंहगडाची पण बोहनी झाली.. नाताळ २०२१ 🎅 च्या #४०० नंतर २०२२ सालचा पहिला.. काही दिवसांनी घरून खंडोबा टेकडी आणि पुढे k2s च्या trail वर सिंहगडच्या दिशेने continue करत, including a detour to पाच टाकी, शेवटच्या ३ टेकड्या चालू होतात, तिथपर्यंत जाऊन-येऊन (~२३ कि.मी.), अजून एक activity, अंडी 🥚, गुलकंद-राजगिरा वडी, चहा 🫖, पराठेंच्या सोबतीने पार पडली / पाडली..

smartphone 📱 वरचे apps regularly update करत असल्यामुळे एकदा, दुर्दैवी, झालं असं की, AllTrails वाल्यांनी नीट testing न करताच bug असलेलं version upload केलं 🫤, ज्याणेकरून (जानेवारी महिन्यातलेच) शेवटच्या ३ सिंहगडचे recording गंडले (पुण्याने काही शब्द शिकवले, त्यातला एक 😬).. supportला mail केल्यावर लगेच hotfix update आलं खरं 😌 पण ह्या तीनचे elevation gain, ह्या articleचा मुद्दा असलेल्या 100k मध्ये मोजले गेले नाहीत.. हे एक कारण आणि दुसरं जे आत्ताच तुम्ही वाचलं, पहिला आठवडाभर काहीही नाही केल्यामुळे ठरवलेल्या target साठी, on paper, पहिल्या महिन्यात बराच (disappointingly) lagging होतो 👎.. त्यानंतर मात्र, सुदैवाने, आजारामुळे तरी कुठेही खाडा नाही पडला, आणि AllTrails वाले सुद्धा व्यवस्थित testing करत आहेत, असं लक्षात येतंय 🤗..

next was time to test the preparedness for the annual Feb-end routine.. as a first dry run ☝️, we did a home-कात्रज-home via खंडोबा टेकडी, k2s route and हत्ती डोंगर (~25 kms).. as the preparation met an opportunity (popularly termed as 'luck'), I spotted 😀 a wild animal 🦌.. next week, was another dry run ✌️, a circuit ⭕ involving घाट road return / descend, after ascending सिंहगड as opted popularly (~14 kms)..

सिंहगडच्या कोंढणपूर sideची ridge explore करायची आहे, हा विचार मागच्या वर्षी, सिंहगड ३६०° @ #३६० पासून मनात घर करून बसला होता.. आता कुठे जाऊन, म्हणजे तब्बल ७ महिन्यांनी मुहूर्त लागला 🤦..

next, परत जुन्नर region, आणि ह्या वेळेस होती पश्चिम ⬅️ दिशा.. एका recommendationचं execution करत जो रिठ्याचे दार आणि घोडेपाण्याची नाळ, ह्या दोन घाटवाटांचा offbeat trek केला, त्याने सह्याद्रीशी निगडीत काही समज अजून पुष्ट केले 💓.. 1. nature is an infinite sphere of which the center is everywhere and the circumference nowhere.. 2. 'when does सह्याद्री disappoint?', ह्या प्रश्नाला उत्तर शोधण्यापेक्षा, आधी 'प्रश्न तरी बरोबर आहे का?', ह्याचं उत्तर शोधायची गरज आहे.. 3. I wish, I could take this home..

universally, शनिवार-रविवार म्हणजे weekend.. त्यांना लागून एक किंवा जास्त सुट्ट्या आल्या म्हणजे आपण त्याला "long weekend" म्हणतो.. चला, ह्याचा थोडा विचार करूया.. हे झालं 5 day 🖐️ week वाल्यांचं, म्हणजे जे आठवड्यातून ५ दिवस office 🧑‍💻 करतात.. ज्यांना फक्त रविवारीच सुट्टी असते, त्यांना जर जोडून सुट्टी आली / सुट्ट्या आल्या तर त्यांनी long Sunday म्हणायचं का? - ही झाली एक case.. दुसरी case आहे ती DST (daylight saving time) वाल्यांची, ज्यांचा weekend दर वर्षी एकदा तासभर वाढतो ➕ आणि दुसऱ्यांदा तासभर कमी ➖ होतो.. now this, perfectly qualifies for the terms "long weekend" and "short weekend".. so,

धुलीवंदनमुळे long weekend weekendला जोडून सुट्टी आल्याचा फायदा घेत काय जे केलं, त्याला "३ दिवसात सिंहगड पिंजून काढला" ☺️ अशी गिरीश सरांनी compliment दिली 🙏.. तिन्ही दिवस आतकरवाडीहून सिंहगड चढत दुसऱ्या / वेगळ्या धारेने (ridge) खाली उतरून u-turn ⤴️ घेत परत माघारी.. १. काळूबाई मंदिर, थोपटेवाडी / खानापूर, २. मारुती मंदिर, कल्याण पेठ, ३. तुकाईमाता मंदिर, कोंढणपूर 📉, मोरदरी 📈.. त्यात, म्हणजे ह्या ३ दिवसात - पुणे दरवाजा, खांदकडा बुरुज, कल्याण दरवाजा, झुंजार बुरुज, तानाजी कडा 🧗, (माहितीफलकावर 'ही घोड्याची पागा नाही', असं description असलेली) घोड्याची पागा 🐎, तोफखाना, कलावंतीणी बुरुज / wind point, potato point, मारुती मंदिर, अमृतेश्वर मंदिर, कोंढाणेश्वर मंदिर 🔱, देव टाकं, हत्ती टाकं, टिळक निवासस्थान 🏡, आपटे सदन, सुभेदार नरवीर तानाजी मालुसरे समाधी, राजाराम महाराज समाधी - असा सबंध सिंहगड हिंडण्यात आला होता 😃.. हिंडणे - बस, हीच माझी औकात.. उन्हाळा असला की गडांवर / डोंगरांवर हमखास वणवा 🔥 बघायला मिळतो.. पण, झोपडी राख होण्याइतपत?.. महिनाआखेर सिंहगड चढायच्या वाटेत पहिल्या टप्प्यातच मैदानालगत एक झोपडी वणव्यामुळे होत्याची नव्हती झाली 😟.. काय असेल तिच्या मालकाची आपबीती ❤️‍🔥 !!

Kangchenjunga, 8586 meters above MSL (Mean Sea Level), we learnt about his success in May.. on the flip side, one of his companions, Mr. Narayanan Iyer was not to return 🥀.. may his soul find the purpose again 1️⃣..

काही दिवसांनी एका groupवर solo cyclistचा 🚴‍♂️ hit-and-run अपघात झाल्याचा message आला.. अश्या hit करणाऱ्या लोकांमुळेच "पुणे", NCRBच्या सर्वात सुरक्षित शहरांच्या list (२०२१) मध्ये पहिलं नव्हतं.. cyclistचं नाव होतं Mr. Prashant Kumar, पण smartphone locked 📵 असल्यामुळे अजून माहिती मिळेना 🤷 आणि इतर कुठल्या ठिकाणी कोणाचा / emergency contact लिखित नसल्याने कोणाला phone करता येईना.. काही वेळाने 'he is no more' 🥀 म्हणुन कळलं.. may his soul too find the purpose again 3️⃣..

the objective behind mentioning these 3 fatal accidents ⏹️ and a non-fatal incident ⏸️ in this article is to highlight and emphasize the need of enough precautions, one must practice when going on any type of adventures ☣️, whilst also not being ignorant towards nature's potential to stun us.. one of the remedies for a locked phone 📵, can be use of "lock screen owner info" 🔏 settings, which can simply be an emergency 🆘 contact number..

त्याच दिवशी, गेल्या ३-४ वेळेस आलो असता, एक काका जे न चुकता दिसायचे, त्यांना विचारलं, "तुम्ही रोज येताय का?", तर त्यांचं उत्तर ऐकून आम्ही दोघंही चकित झालो 😮.. अमृत महोत्सवानिमित्त ७५ दिवस सलग सिंहगड ⛰️.. now, that's some target 💪.. नाव - अनंत आगरखेडकर.. ऑगस्टच्या पहिल्या आठवड्यात सुरुवात म्हणजे, ५०वा वसुधाच्या आणि ७५वा सुमेधच्या वाढदिवशी.. more on that, later - वसुधा / सुमेध नाही, coincidence बद्दल..

it took more than 8 months to be in a leading position in terms of the daily average needed for the set yearly target.. 100k in 365 days = ~274 meters 📈 per day.. celebration of the personal new year 🎂 at कोथळीगड with family meant the YTD (Year Till Date) figure was now at par 🆒.. finally 💖

come weekend, we went to कुर्डूगड via निसणीची वाट and returned via लिंग्या धबधबा.. article on this details out - network ditching us, the star 🌟 shaped नेढं, the spiders 🕷️ reminding of खडसांबळे, the snake 🐍 being generous to give दर्शन to only one of us, the lost ascend, ending in 'we had our day'..

34,441.. to 44,311.. to 79,561.. and beyond.. २०१९ आणि २०२० सालचे आकडे क्रमशः मे आणि जून महिन्यात ओलांडल्यावर, ह्या महिन्यात शेवटचा milestone / आजपर्यंतचा record, म्हणजेच २०२१चा आकडाही 🔙 cross झाला.. इथून अतिस्पष्ट आणि फक्त जी दिसत होती, ती होती मछली की आँख 'सांड की आँख' (bull's eye) 🎯 - magic number 100k 💯.. relate करायचंच असेल तर KBC 🏧 मधल्या 'तिलस्मी तिजोरीका द्वार खुल जाता है', ह्या dialogशी करू शकता.. पण ह्या वाक्यातून त्यांना नेमकं काय सांगायचंय, हे मला आजपर्यंत कळलेलं नाहीये 🙄.. कारण माझं target पहिल्या दिवसापासूनच ६-अंकी आकडा होता.. ह्या milestone नंतर कुठलंच दार 🚪 उघडलं नव्हतं, at least, दिसलं तरी नव्हतं.. दुसरं म्हणजे, अमृत महोत्सवानिमित्त ह्या seasonला top prize ७.५ होतं.. so, next year will they return with ७.६? 🤣.. असो..

(back in पुणे) following somebody on social media naturally ignites that urge of being at the place he / she has been to 🤠.. one such destination was मेंगजाई देवी मंदिर.. equivalent to elevation gain 📈 of 3 सिंहगडs, this hike stretched beyond 20 kms, from-to आतकरवाडी, via कल्याण दरवाजा / पेठ.. जेवायला घरी 🏢..

as the magic number 💯 was getting closer, it was now time to pick some suitable integer to coincide it with 🫂.. and, could there have been a better candidate than the "International Mountain ⛰️ Day", 11-12-22?.. which was also the unlucky 🐈‍⬛ (triple) Nelson this time - a single followed by its double, 111-222.. deadline reduced by 20 days, but still, in future⏳.. not like our PdM, who wants everything yesterday 🤦..

then followed the illustrious नागेश्वर गुहा 🐍 hike from चिपळूण side, चोरवणे village.. इथल्या article मध्ये - वर्षभर होणारा शिवलिंगाचा 'अभिषेक', maggi 🍜 बनवायला लागते "कला", कोकणातून वर चढायचं म्हणून वाऱ्याचा हट्ट धरण्यात अर्थ नाही, 'अध्यात्मिक' आणि 'शारीरिक', दोन्ही प्रकारचे समाधान 🧘‍♂️, कोकणात आढळणारा जांभा दगड, lunch + dinner = lunner and ending on a high note 🔖 with "लस्सी हुन बनवत असतील कढी" 🤣..
